Sony’s New ULT Speakers Are Built for Parties

Sony makes some of the best speakers and headphones around, and now the company has revealed a few more speakers in its ‘ULT’ lineup of party speakers.

The lineup is the Ult Tower 9, Ult Tower 9AC, Ult Field 5, Ult Field 3, and the Ult Mic wireless microphones. Each product is built to have deep bass, lively sound, and, in some cases, be easy to carry. The release comes alongside a new collaboration with famous musician Post Malone, part of Sony’s “For The Music” campaign.

The Ult Tower 9 and Ult Tower 9AC are made for parties, offering huge bass and loud, room-filling sound. Both have a 360-degree Party Sound feature, which spreads audio evenly around a space using four tweeters for crisp highs and two mid-range speakers for clear vocals. Sony’s X-Balanced Speaker Unit also improves sound quality, making it powerful and clean. Using the ULT button, you can adjust the bass with ULT1 for deeper lows and ULT2 for punchier hits.

The Ult Tower 9 runs on battery for up to 25 hours, while the Ult Tower 9AC plugs into an outlet. Both come with 360-degree Party Lights that can sync with up to 100 matching speakers for a lively, coordinated light display. They also have karaoke and guitar inputs with a TV Sound Booster mode for better movie and show audio. For easy moving, both speakers have built-in handles and smooth-rolling wheels.

If you want something easier to carry, the Ult Field 5 and Ult Field 3 deliver strong sound in smaller sizes. Both are built for extra bass, thanks to Sony’s X-Balanced Speaker Unit and specially tuned passive radiators. The Ult Field 5 has richer sound with deeper bass, while the Ult Field 3 packs clear, powerful audio into a small body.

Each of these comes with a removable shoulder strap, which is supposed to make them great for trips and outdoor use. The Ult Field 5 lasts up to 25 hours on a charge, and the Ult Field 3 runs for up to 24 hours. Both are water- and dust-resistant (rated IP66 and IP67), so they’re good for beaches, hikes, and anyone who goes near those areas. Ult Field 5 also has 360-degree Party Lights for fun lighting effects.

Sony ULT Tower 9

The Sony ULT TOWER 9 is a powerful party speaker with 360-degree sound and lighting. Its X-Balanced Speaker Unit gives clear audio, while two bass modes offer a way to change that same audio. A long battery life and convenient features like karaoke inputs make it ideal for large gatherings.

Some other interesting features include the Party Connect, which links multiple speakers; the Multipoint Connection, which pairs with multiple devices; Bluetooth Fast Pair; and a USB charging port. The speakers come in Black and Off White for both, with the Ult Field 3 also available in Forest Gray.

Rounding out the Ult Power Sound Series is the Ult Mic, a set of wireless mics that easily connect to matching speakers. They have clear, sharp vocals that are great for karaoke or performances. Setting them up is simple; like with any microphone, just plug the included dongles into the speaker’s mic jack.

You can buy all the new speakers and microphones from the above links. They should also show up at more retailers over the coming weeks.
